This was the method for me to prepare a nomination, copy that link, name of user and title of picture, and works flawlessly.

If a post is flagged enough it gets hidden automatically so no other users get to see and vote for it. ![]()
Oh no, I didn’t know about that
so definitely not a good idea.
And if a regular flags it then it will immediately be hidden, no threshold one click and gone.

I just edited the instruction section in “How to submit a nomination.” Can you tell me if this is better?
I think we have the same issue with the monthly challenge poll, where to see the full image you are voting for, sometimes you need to go back up 100 posts because the image next to the vote button can’t be enlarged.
@sooz, is this a ‘feature’ baked in, or can the ooll generation be changed to allow image enlargement.
I’ve not created a poll before, sorry.
Good point, @MangooSalade. In creating the poll, there are no options to choose image size. Possibly @raghukamath can tell us if there is a way to globally change image restrictions in polls from the back end…
I’m not sure if we should leave this post in this thread or move it over to the art challenge WIP thread. I’ll leave it here for now in case this conversation helps us with the featured artwork conversation.
Thanks @sooz, I tried these steps:
In the step 2. the option to copy the image’s URL will differ per browser (on Chrome it’s “Copy image address”), but I think that’s clear enough.
However, when I just pasted the link into the post, it only showed as the clickable link, not an image. Maybe it’s how it behaves on Chrome? I don’t know.
After some experimentation, I found this method to be pretty failsafe:
In the editing preview the image may be large, but after showing the post normally, it will get scaled down. Although the URL is different, this is practically the same as @Michelist 's quote method, as far as I can tell.
Thank you for the help, @YRH and @Michelist. I put the details inside a details tag. I didn’t include anything about using the quote function as it’s so finicky to try to capture an image with that feature.
Sadly no. One thing I did was to link the original image URL. I copied this URL by opening the post and clicking on the image and copying the link for original image from underneath it.
EDIT: I am still following this thread for ideas and I will soon add my opinions. In case anyone has any more please add and provide your opinions
The automated way or making a plugin is a complicated affair. We should look as solving this by thinking of ways of getting good artworks without relying heavily on plugins.
Would allowing re nominating artwork which are left over be an improvement in combination with the current system. This way even if an artwork was left out it can be renominated next time.
This can be a wild idea but can we remove the restriction of self submission? Can we perhaps allow user to submit their own artwork for nomination? Most won’t self nominate but I feel this way any users can try to promote more of their own stuff and see if it gets featured.
Another suggestion would be to have some sort of nomination / suggestion by the moderators like they have editors pick.
For less active participation from the members I do not know a solution yet. I am still open to more ideas.
I really don’t know if we should allow it. Many, or even most, won’t do it, but I guess a few would nominate every piece of themselves. Even if this is not, strictly speaking, unequal treatment, as anyone could do this, I don’t think it’s fair to the shy ones, and those who could never nominate something of their own because of their cultural background or upbringing.

One could almost automatically get additional nominations by a search that looks for finished artworks posted since the first of the month that have greater than (say) 50 likes. I can’t make the search do this, the closest filter I can get is posted in the month and ‘liked by me’, but I think there would be a way.
On the other hand, I like the fact that this site is different to other sites like Pixilart and Pixel Studio network in which images with the most likes bubble to the top of a gallery, and the highest for the month gets picture of the month.
I like the face that Krita Community is more about feedback and helping each other and the tool improve than a race for the most likes. It is a refreshing change from the other sites.
@Mythmaker What do you think about not having a time period limit for nominations. For example you can nominate any artwork submitted during any period of time. Yes the nominations are for the current month but I think not limiting it to solely artwork made during that time will help us get the ones which are left out.
Also we can make it so that an artwork can be nominated again if it fails to get nominated.
I didn’t think those limitations existed anyway? ![]()
For the last one, I nominated a piece from the previous month, and the one with the highest vote % was posted last November.
One of my original points was the new system includes an intent for annual awards, but no limitations for nominations:
If we’re to continue with the current system for the time being, then maybe we need to think of another approach for the annual awards. At this rate it would end up with 60 images to vote for anyway (or 72 if you include the challenge winners), which seems a bit impractical to me.
Also - I think the nominating and voting needs to be pushed more to encourage participation; the thread is quickly buried. Personally, I think it should be stickied for the duration of the month so it’s always visible.
Good point. I just pinned it.
