You can make the texture of the brush follow the direction you’re drawing by enabling ‘rotation’ and setting it to the ‘Drawing angle’ of the pen.
You can change the direction of the pattern while drawing in the pop-up palette under ‘angle’. If you don’t see it, click the right arrow in the bottom right.
