Add Image > Expand/Resize Canvas to Fit All Content

They’re both less than 3MB so I don’t know why that happened.
What was the error message?
For anybody who’s keeping up with this, here are the .mp4 videos:

Crop:

Fit:
I don’t know why but I can’t upload fit.mp4. No error message, nothing happens :frowning:

‘Fit’ is an illustration of the first case that was made and a solution has been proposed by @yetanotherpainter, above.

There is also a Feature Request topic that seems to cover this:
Add Image > Expand/Resize Canvas to Fit All Content

The ‘Crop’ .mp4 seems to cover the second case where I think it’s related to GIMP’s ability to have layers of different sizes.
I’ve never used that facility in GIMP so I can’t understand the difference between GIMP and krita for that one.
Maybe someone else can figure it out.

Yes both this and the feature request you linked are same. I think we can merge them.

@krite Trim to image size doesn’t work because it trims everything to the dimension of the canvas it doesn’t trim or crop to combined layers. There is already a feature request for this. PLease vote for it. Also please search the forum for similar feature request.

I’d like to add that selecting opaque pixels has very low performance on large images. A built-in feature could in theory work much faster.
