So, now to the plugins I mentioned earlier today.

Shortcut Composer allows you to create additional palettes on it in addition to the existing popup palette, and these can include brushes, tools, blend modes and more, I’ll spare describing all the possibilities here, best you check it out:

> [@Shortcut Composer v1.6.1 - Plugin for Pie menus, Multiple key assignment, Mouse trackers and more!](https://krita-artists.org/t/shortcut-composer-v1-4-0-plugin-for-pie-menus-multiple-key-assignment-mouse-trackers-and-more/55314/277):

> Hi, and thanks for using my plugin for so long! Great you reminded me about that - I wanted to have this at some point but kind of forgot about it. Apart from personal preference, alternative method for invoking actions could be useful for Mac users, as there are problems on this OS with detecting key releases. There are things to consider here though: I think configuration per-pie is not required? Should “mouse tracker” actions have an option like that too? Should these two be separately co…

My favorite plugin is “Krita-UI-Redesign”, this offers the possibility to have the toolbox and the tool options docker also available in canvas only mode on the canvas. You can show and hide both at any time, furthermore it offers a few small cosmetic options. The latest version is presented here:

> [@Krita UI Redesign v0.5 alpha released, requesting feedback!](https://krita-artists.org/t/krita-ui-redesign-v0-5-alpha-released-requesting-feedback/33130):
>
> Hello there! After quite a few months of on and off work, I think that the current version of the UI is stable enough for proper feedback once again. Regarding the layers docker, the vertical separators inside each layer will be removed in Krita 5.1, [a fix was just merged](https://invent.kde.org/graphics/krita/-/merge_requests/1203). To test it out, download the alpha [here](https://github.com/veryprofessionaldodo/Krita-UI-Redesign/releases/tag/v0.5-alpha), and install using the instructions in the [README](https://github.com/veryprofessionaldodo/Krita-UI-Redesign/blob/master/README.md). More suggestions, as well as general feedback will be greatly appreciated! Let’s try to get this in a “production-ready” s…

It can be downloaded from here:

And here was the initial introduction of the plugin:

> [@UI Redesign V0.2! Feedback and Test requested!](https://krita-artists.org/t/ui-redesign-v0-2-feedback-and-test-requested/15217):
>
> Brand new release of the UI Redesign plugin! Hello there, and it’s exciting to open up a new thread for brand-new feedback! It’s been quite some time since the last version, and A LOT has changed! Bugs were fixed, features were added, and refactors were made! Here’s how it’s looking so far: And here’s how it’s looking by default using my custom theme for comparison: Light Theme (disregard the dark background, the settings weren’t doing anything I’m afraid) You ca…

Another plugin that makes working in canvas only mode much more comfortable is KanvasBuddy. With KanvasBuddy you can display a menu on the canvas which gives you access to many functions, you can also customize it yourself and add or remove functions. You can find the topic here:

> [@KanvasBuddy - a Minimalist Toolbar](https://krita-artists.org/t/kanvasbuddy-a-minimalist-toolbar/549):
>
> KanvasBuddy 0.4.1 A minimalist toolbar for Krita [[KB Main]](https://github.com/Kapyia/KanvasBuddy/blob/master/images/main_panel.png)What is KanvasBuddy? KanvasBuddy is a Python plugin made for Krita, a free professional and open-source painting program. KB is a small dialog that floats on top of the canvas packed with enough features to let you spend as much time in Canvas-Only mode as possible. The idea behind KB was to provide the 20% of tools used 80% of the time in the most out-of-the-way GUI possible. Its features are very similar to that of Krita’s own Pop-Up…

BUT with Krita 5 you can’t use the version linked in the first post, you have to download the version patched by @Halcyoen and linked in this post:

> [@KanvasBuddy - a Minimalist Toolbar](https://krita-artists.org/t/kanvasbuddy-a-minimalist-toolbar/549/198):
>
> @KIO @PlestoceneGarbage @Taffs_swagging i have updated my patch for Krita 5.2. you will need to reinstall the plugin: [download](https://github.com/halcyoen/KanvasBuddy/raw/master/kb-0-5-unofficial.zip)[source](https://github.com/halcyoen/KanvasBuddy) (same links as in my earlier posts)

This screenshot shows how the redesign plugin puts Toolbox and Tool Options docker into the canvas, furthermore you see in the middle the free floating window of KanvasBuddy in a maximum configuration that has all inbuilt options enabled (even that can be extended manipulating a JSON-File if you have a little coding experience):

KanvasBuddy in large:

These three plugins together basically give you the ability to work exclusively in Canvas Only mode.
