Voted, this needs to be implemented for those who actually use pop up pallet especially after 5.3
I was just trying the shift+i popup on my system and it is instant - no animation. Could it be your OS causing the effect rather than Krita? ![]()
I don’t actually use Krita’s inbuilt selectors as I’ve been using the Pigment.O plugin for ages. The triangle in that has the values aligned vertically - that seems more logical to me than the native one. I don’t think it has an equivalent popup feature though.
You’re correct. It’s a Plasma effect for popups I hadn’t seen kick in for any popups yet, including the not really popup palette of this request. ![]()
Disabled the cursed thing, it’s not bad in general, but making a palette slowly fade out of existence instead of getting out of your face is.
I’m sorry I’m getting confused, which palette has slow fade out animation?
The popped up palette for the advanced color selector which you showed me is a popup affected by KDE plasma desktop effects and would fade in my system until I turned off this effect.
The spinning Popup Palette apparently is not a real popup when it comes to the window manager and is not subject to desktop effects.
Yes, it’s confusing. ![]()
Oh OK, I thought so but I had doubt because:
- I thought the main issue was about shortcuts overload.
- The fade out I experience is a split second for me (it was already the case on my linux computer)
If you hit any key, the popup disappears, without you needing to get out of the area
While you are at it, also disable (if not already) the horrible “dialog parent” effect when it turns the main window darker when you open dialogs for filters.
Oh, thank you! Can I like your post twice? A big reason I tend to ignore the regular filters and use GMIC is because the main window, the one where you preview the regular filters, gets darkened and grayed out when you’re previewing them with his effect on and I didn’t hunt for the cause yet. ![]()
I wish it was possible to set kwin rules to exclude windows from effects. I don’t mind the fluff for most software, it’s cute, but they’re evil for Krita.
Here it took 2 to 2.5s to fade in or out. That’s a 4s round trip for a tool I use several times per minute.
About the shortcuts I ended assigning one to the tablet buttons, which I hate due the poor placement and stiffness. But does the work while I don’t come up with anything better. I think I need a new tablet, hah.
