Thanks to Dmitry for giving me some pointers!
Luckily (kind of), turns out this whole mess is on CachyOS’s package repo. If you’re also a Cachy user, for now, do NOT use the official repo for getting Krita & stick to the official appimages. I’ll let them know on their forums about the issue, though, & will give an update if I get a response! 
Not marking this as a solution just yet, as I wanna wait for the dev response from over there first. Hope that’s ok!
