Hi, all!
Could you please test these packages for Linux and Windows? I guess the issues you mentioned in this thread should be fixed now:
- Windows: https://files.kde.org/krita/testing/copy-paste-refactor/krita-x64-6.1.0-prealpha-9f83f397.zip
- Linux: https://files.kde.org/krita/testing/copy-paste-refactor/krita-6.1.0-prealpha-9f83f397b5-x86_64.AppImage
- MR with sources: https://invent.kde.org/graphics/krita/-/merge_requests/2985
I have significantly rewritten the way how we handle clipboard pastes. The main goal was to handle the layers with non-transparent default pixel properly. But I also addressed your issues. The requirements I kept in mind are the following:
- If something is copied with a selection, then the selection bounds are considered as the bounds of the image in the clipboard.
- If something is copied without a selection, then the image bounds are considered as the bounds of the image in the clipboard.
- When creating a new image from the clipboard, the transparent areas are also considered.
My patch could also affect the way how Drag&Drop functionality works, so it would be nice to check it as well ![]()
