Feature request for a freehand brush selection tool

Because it is okay for you, I edited the title.

Sorry for being Off-Topic, but to answer your question:

This is only allowed to administrators, moderators and regulars.
But I’ve something in the back of my mind, that the OP also can edit their topic’s-title?
If you can see a pen-symbol at the end of your topic-title, you should be able to edit it by clicking the symbol.

Assign a shortcut like ‘S’ to paint selection, the normal way is press ‘S’. But you can also temporarily active it by press and hold ‘S’, like when you use ‘V’ for line tool. In 5.0 more tools will support this.

Extra options for temporary tool invocations (MR 693)

Previous versions of Krita allowed briefly switching to the line tool by holding ‘V’ and would switch back when released. Thanks to Tom Tom, it is now possible to configure similar actions in the Canvas Input Settings for Ellipse, Rectangle, Move, Fill, Gradient, Measure and several of the selection tools.

No matter how brush tips, RGBa preset works, the final color on layer after you paint, if it’s solid and hard edge, the selection is too. If the color is semi-transparent or has feather edges, so the selection. This is how you ‘paint’ a selection, we just do a ‘select opaque’ after paintings.

And then to let people see through what they have selected easier, we make the selection displayed as like 80% opacity, but only for display.

I saw this post on X a moment ago and remembered that someone had requested this feature. I think it would be a good idea to add it.
