Are you quite sure that I am here to do exactly this? I dont think I have ever met you before this thread…and Im part of this community. It’s dangerous to generalize and this leads to false perception of reality. I suggest that it would be best if you continued to use CSP and try Krita after a few more upgrades and see if you like it then. If you are looking for a specific set of features that do not work well or exist in Krita right now, if you have already sent a maturely worded, concise and to the point list of helpful suggestions to the developers, It would be best to wait and use something else to draw on in the meantime… It’s very simple. There is no need to complicate such simple decisions. You could be happily drawing on the software of your choice without any more drama.
Hey is it possible can we close/lock this thread right now instead of 7 days from now?
I think there is a bit of misunderstanding how OSS development works…
in Krita the core devs currently is actually doing alot of optimization and cleaning up, modernization and other necessary thing to be able to hopefully implement other request.
the new bells and whistles feature that some thinks are unnecessary are mostly added by contributors, some contributes alot, that other thinks they are part of the core dev, while they are not and they are free to do whatever they want to add or contribute.
idk why we are still debating for close gap and fill [mind you i requested this too, voted on that thread and made my own feature request, advocated for the unified thread] so I have vested interest in its implementation.
When it was already been in the queue to be implemented somewhere December or early next year depending on the workload of the one who commit to wanting to make it?
Same is for text, I from the time i use krita till now also always gripes about text and would continue to remind them about text if it seems thats not progressing. Whenever there’s a chance for it. It may be easy for other software, but there is too much a mess on the current one , that it best be tackled from ground out. There are works that are starting already there.
The clipping mask/ group is also in the works but thats one where opinion are pretty half and half and many direction but its moving on.
Panels Creation, better support for comic, optimization and improvement to assistant are all in plan and works.
Yeah i rather this be close.
There’s too much unnecessary aggressiveness - its the same thing over and over again. When all this been address before… and progress even if slow have been pushed.
Krita is a pretty well paced project compared to some others… ![]()

And Google seemingly never does what users wish for. When I’ve searched for poorly functioning features decades old threads with hundreds of entries emerge.
This topic is now closed. We welcome qualitative and constructive feedback that builds up the community but we feel that this conversation is not going in that direction.
Thank you for understanding.
