This is only for recovery in case of a crash, it doesn’t create a persistent safe file in normal circumstances. Recovery files normally get deleted after Krita closes.
People often enough think that the auto-save function will save the work for them and then get disappointed when there is no file after they close the program and didn’t save the file on their own, and their hard work is gone. Honestly I can’t blame them, the name is a bit misleading when comparing what it actually does to other software. I think it would be better to change the name of the functionality to something like auto-recovery or anything along the line, to better convey that this is ju…
