I think everyone is on the same page on how it should be handled as a new scheme, and that should be presented as a choice for the user.
I guess maybe focusing on what are the changes people make in their shortcuts could be a good next focus. For the topic so maybe we could discuss the common changes.
@TheFlow may i suggest changing the topic name? To something that reflects more on the creation of a new shortcut scheme, as i think it’s more related to the discussion.
(Sorry for the double post but i think this post was talking about something too different from my previous post. And felt more organized separating this)
I am left handed so for me, in spanish keyboard is important to have everything in the left part of the keyboard.
i use
“Ctrl+d” for deselect (too much time using it) I don’t know if new users notice the difference but for me a shortcut of 3 keys is not practical.
“a”= Assistants
“<” = snap to assistants
“>” = Display assistants
This could change with @tiar work in assistants we will see
“n”= minimal selector in canvas . I use it for minor changes.
“q”= Freehand selection tool
“Shift+Q” = Polygonal selection tool
“e”= normal eraser. I use Eraser with a lot of my brushes, so for me this is useful.
Is not too much but i think is fine for me and my hands.
Also to speed up my painting or brush making proccess i use a custom tool bar.
If this were offered as an optional [opt-in] scheme it would allow people like me to continue using our own customized shortcuts. I paint with my left hand on the keyboard so most of my shortcuts have been customized to use the lefthand keys.
