How can I turn on GPU (CUDA) acceleration in Krita?

Hello,

I just started using Krita. I really liked some of its features. But some fixes take too long.

I gave the system usage 6GB, it doesn’t use it at a high rate. Also, it doesn’t use the GPU at all. Is there a way to enable CUDA?

Thanks,

Mert

Hi

No, not possible.
Currently, GC is used only to render canvas (scale, rotation)
It’s not used for drawing, nor for filter calculations…

We could accelerate that if we convinced more users to join the Development Fund ( https://fund.krita.org/ ): more devs equals more fixes. From my point of view, the management of bugs is already exceptional if I put in perspective the size of the team VS the challenge and the size of the audience. Community needs to protect the devs from burning-out, and help them at working in good condition without overloading their shoulders.
