This iris was another summer 2023 sketch. (Based on one of my own iris blooms outside!) My deep motivation for this sketch was… I wanted to draw at least five min a day that summer… and I often remembered only after my computer was off :grin:. So traditional sketch it was! Honestly, pencil in hand does have its own true benefits - and it’s interesting to create a drawing in 5 minute episodes. :smiley:

It turned out very gently.:+1: At first I see that we don’t have such irises growing, we have others in Russia, if you’re interested, take a look at my portfolio.

Thanks again for your comments and the picture. The type I drew is called a bearded iris. I don’t know where else it grows, but I know it flowers in Virginia, USA. :wink:

What a pleasant pencil drawing - just like you’d want to see in a book…Good for you to stick to an image in short installments :wink:
