KolorMarc-Inspired Marker Brushes

Hi, I haven’t been on here for a while because I’ve been busy with life and stuff. I’ve been slowly working on a brush bundle for my comics, and two of the brushes included are marker brushes.

It’s been tough but I think I’m slowwly getting to that authentic look I’m chasing after. True Grit Supply’s KolorMarc brush set has been a big inspiration on this project, though I don’t think mine look as good.
Included is an example and the two brushes for folks to test out and play with.

Feedback and suggestions for improvement are appreciated.

Thanks a lot. I will test them but I’m not sure I will have good suggestions.

Love this simple bundle !
Specially the way the simple noise like texture is adding extra visual value  !
Will make few more experiments to understand it better.
Would love to have one blender marker like brush in there .

This looks great omg

Also thank you! I would really like to add a blender brush but I’m not entirely sure how to create that. I’ll take a look at the blender brushes I have and see if I can make a marker version with them.

The only thing that bothers me with the multiplier brush is that I wish I could control the intensity of the multiply blend mode, because I feel like with certain colors it’s a little too heavy.

Yes,same experience here !
That’s why I was looking for a “softener” kind of blender brush.
Pesi’s watercolour bundle got few good blender like options.
For now I will try to experiment with them.

I believe I have that bundle, so I’ll give those a try.

I’m trying out other blender brushes I have but I’m finding they’re taking away the texture while blending and that kinda defeats the marker look.

Let me know what you find!

You are right !
If we want to preserve the texture, then this type of blending will not work.
Maybe a soft, airbrush like marker with low opacity can create the illusion of blending.

We could try something like that!

I tried downloading the brushes, but unfortunately the files were no longer available.

Because the bundle was offered under CC-BY-SA license, I can offer you this bundle from @Sunny_Retro in my cloud. Please obey the license, it is not hard but mandatory:

Have fun!

That’s odd. I recently moved my files around in my google drive so maybe that’s why?

Thank you Michelist!

Hi everyone, I apologize for not updating this post with a new link to the brushes. I had moved them to another google drive and simply forgot to post them here.

No problem, as long as I’m alive, and my cloud space provider does not go bankrupt, your files can always be downloaded from my cloud. And your file belongs to those which are regularly downloaded,

as the counter states:

Hello! Welcome to the forum
Try typing “Comic colorist” in the search engine on the brush docker, and see if it shows up. Or try typing “missuny.”
