Krita 5.0.2 very slow to start

@ericjpaint @EyeOdin @Kacart

Could you please first back up your folders (make sure to do that, or at least back up databases, because otherwise the tags will be lost, I’ve found a bug there and I haven’t fixed it yet), and download the “Krita Next” version from the website (note: if you use Linux, you need to wait a few more hours until build #1532 for Feb 07 (today) is ready).

  1. First remove the database (don’t remove the whole folder, it’s important that you keep all of the resources), run Krita 5.0.2 once, and then run it the second time, measuring time to start up. This will be the base. (It would be awesome if you could do that and all other ones maybe twice so the measurement is more sure).

  2. Then remove the database from the folder, run it once, then the second time and measure the second time’s startup time.

  3. Then restore the database from before (since you made sure to back it up) (restore means: remove the one that is in the Krita’s resource folder, and copy the one from the backed up folder - make sure to copy, not move, so you still have the back up), run Krita once, then run it once again and measure the time then. (Always measure the second time).

  4. Restore the database so you can use Krita 5.0.2. for work or personal stuff.

Does it start up faster now, with Krita Next? I hope it would. I know I and @Grum999 made one query up to 4-5x faster, or even more, but startup is more than just that.
