Krita crashes on MacOS when I make a new project

I just downloaded Krita for my Mac (MacOS Catalina 10.15.7) and I can start the program just fine, but when I try to make a new project or open an image it just closes itself and send the “Krita quit unexpectedly” window. Am I doing something wrong here?

Can you check if you’re in this case:

It similar, but my case is with krita 4.4.8, MacOS Catalina 10.15.7 on a Macbook pro 2012 with a 2.5GHz intel core i5, and the proyect size and serolution doesn’t seem to matter at all, I just click “new project” and “create” with the default settings but it still crashes

In menu View, is the “Show grid” option is active?
In settings, can you also try to disable canvas graphic acceleration?

Hi @carlosandresRG , open Krita, go Krita top left of the Mac desktop and go to preferences. Go to display and look at the settings. If canvas acceleration is off, turn it on. If canvas acceleration is on turn it off. Set the renderer to openGL. Restart Krita.

I did this and it worked, thank you so much!!

@carlosandresRG you’re welcome.
