The latest version of krita is 4.4.7. The version number is shown on the pictorial splash screen image that is displayed when you start krita.
If you don’t know how to make it show hidden files, this post tells you:
If there was a crash while writing to the autosave file than the autosave file may have been lost or damaged.
When you start krita, it detects autosave files then tells you about them and offers to open them for you.
So, if krita hasn’t found one then there probably isn’t one available for use.
If you didn’t do a manual save during all the time you were working on that .kra file, all the changes you made to it will have been lost.
It would be helpful if you can find the crash log file and make it available via a link to a file sharing service or website or pastebin. It’s at:
C:\Users{your username}\AppData\Local and look for a file called ‘kritacrash.log’
You need the File Explorer set to show hidden files to be able to see the AppData folder.
