Trying to shrink non-textured paint brush such as e)_Marker Detail and do some line doodle.
Edit: Minor fix for stance and muscle
I’ve heard an art teacher who had something to say about that.
“If you’re artwork stinks, it’s because your process sucks. Fix it.”
A bit salty but his brashness ultimately got the point across. Personally I found developing and sticking to a process helps me figure out where my problem areas are and allows me to find solutions to them, faster.
By the way, great work!
I always get stuck when the process cannot persuade my brain to proceed with structured outcome.
Yes, a constant process is nice and faster, and even make art style consistant. If I want to play with different style and explore some new approach, new process is always welcome
Get bored with streamline process → more aggressive steps with less draft and thought
Also switch to custom sketch brush, different vibe.

Your water colors have a dreamy feel to them. I think it works for your character.
Recently stumbled upon Pluvium Grandis artwork on X (twitter, PLGR@PluviumG), most of his work are done with some simple brushes like hard round brush or “text brush”, which inspired me a lot.
Did a quick face lighting study with rectangle hard brush, use 60% Opacity in rough buildup process, and then altered to any value based on use case.
