I am a basic Ubuntu Studio user and my version of Gimp is spazing out, and their latest version has no instructions to install… So the heck with them!
I now need step by step instructions to down load and install Kirta… Plrase! While I can use the terminal, I am not comfortable (I screwed up my system and almost lost the majority of my artwork. Sincerely Bert

If you find the version in your distribution old and want to try the latest release you can just go to krita website and download the appimage which are like portable version of latest Krita build. The instructions to use appimage are also in the manual linked above
