Just need to say am a bit surprised to read that krita features are starting to be held behind having to use a certain distro in the hope your own distro/compositor enables use of those features at some time. Some distros prefer not to go this route, and others can’t take on the level of extra maintenance this would involve.
Have seen, over years of noticing comments under videos/articles, that people’s concerns about kde are building. More recently regarding support being dropped for FreeBSD, gentoo build issues, and strong focus on core linux programs replaced by only wayland/rust/systemd, all of which seem to involve a lot of development flux at this point, rather than the usual variety of stable linux options being kept available.
It’s surprising to see how many comments are from those who’ve loved kde over years, say are sad to remove it, won’t use it again (because want to keep the traditional stable linux community and software connected and compatible), but would gladly come back if issues were resolved. Really hope things can work out well all-round, for users, kde and krita.
