A lot of my artworks are fantasy themed and there is often some magic involved. One character uses spell circles. Those fancy magic, often circular, things you see in rituals and summoning and stuff.
I usually just make them up on the fly and paint them with the multi brush tool in snowflake or mirror mode. But I’m pretty uncreative with the shapes and the symbols used.
I wonder if there is maybe a generator or a library of objects (bonus points if its vector) I can draw inspiration from. I always wanted to make them somehow consistent within my worldbuilding.
For the people who don’t know what I’m talking about, here is an example from Final Fantasy Crisis Core, where a magic circle is used to call a summon.
The drawings in this image are not magic symbols. The artist who made this simply made it up: see that he drew a letter W (?!) in the circle. In the books I consulted, the letters, when they were in the symbols, were not in the Latin alphabet. Maybe he mixed a compass rose with a magic circle (never seen that).
They make the same mistake when designing armor: the warrior wearing it probably wouldn’t even be able to move, let alone fight! See that I’m not criticizing you, but the absurdity that I see happen a lot.
My advice is: look for drawings of real magic circles, study them and create from them. you will have an original and better work.
Those are really good. They definitely will help me get started with something when I cant think of something myself. I expected that you of all probably already did some research on this because of magical theme of Pepper and Carrot and all.
