wow, great poster and it definitely has the right vintage vibe
Another Titan-something cruise? How could it possibly go wrong? ![]()
@Paulo Very cool depiction of the highlands! The ruins look great! I like the texture and the way everything fades into the foggy background!
@MOHCIN_LABID I mean, how cool is it to have a ginger kitty looking at a picture of Ginger.
The Krita museum looks fun and of course Kiki fits right in!
@Elixiah Excellent as usual! I love how you captured the vintage through the color pallet, the geometric shapes, and the fonts! The crown jewel of the solar system looks like a fun all-inclusive trip to me!
Hey folks, here are my entries! ![]()
This time I made a diptych dedicated to one of my favourite games ever: Valheim! For those who don’t know, in Valheim you are a dead Viking sent to the 10th world of Yggdrasil by Odin to beat some rebellious bosses into submission. There is a per biome progression, and in the 5 first biomes (Meadows, Black Forest, Swamps, Mountain, Plains) you can feel pretty lonely, as apart from a few isolated merchants, you will only encounter enemies. But in the 2 next biomes, the Mistlands and the Ashlands, you might encounter some friendly Dwarves, the Dvergar, who came here to acquire rare resources. They are doing pretty well in the Mistlands, where they can be solid allies against the local fauna if you don’t anger them, but the Ashlands are way more ruthless and their outposts there are often quickly overrun. I imagined propaganda posters they would make to invite more of their kind from Nidavellir…
Technical info: the font is called Norse and is 100% free on dafont.com ; in order to try and achive that old poster look we’re after, I simply played with the “posterize” filter. I’ll post a non-posterized version in the WIP thread.
Here are my contributions for this month’s poster challenge and influenced by my travel bucket list.
With a 1950’s vibe. Used a post war colour scheme and exuberance.
With a 1960’s Barbie vibe, a vibrant colour pallet and funky fonts. Not in the conventional travel poster size but I could also see this as an ad for Scuba Barbie.![]()
With a 1970’s vibe. A color pallet of muted blues and browns topped off with cool modern fonts.
I wasn’t thrilled with my original post in the WIP discussion. I always wanted to paint these colorful clown of the sea Atlantic Horned Puffins. Found in the North Atlantic and on both sides of the pond.
Referenced the birds from here:
Used Krita’s default fonts in all three submissions as well as the assistant tool and the font editor, but I am still struggling with that editor.
Can’t wait for the updated version!!!
This was another fun challenge for me, @steve.improvthis
!!!
@Corentin, ok, those Dvergar are freaky!
I’m not familiar with the game, but now I’ll have to give a looksie on Steam.
I love puffins @I_J10! They don’t get enough screen time, so cool you gave them some here! The reef is nice and relaxing too!
Welcome to the forum and to the challenge, @Manda_art.
I’m always a fan of Parisian cityscapes, and yours is such a wonderful take, @Manda_art !
I really like the simple swoosh of clouds creating the motion in the scene!
Totally Retro! Love this, @Elixiah !![]()
Time has certainly gotten away from me as usual! Still, I am maintaining the necessary PEACE we all must strive for in these tumultuous times! Take a deep breath! Welcome Peace into your lives today!

Thank you!, I am very glad you enjoy it!
I hope everyone had fun with this month’s challenge topic and maybe learned a thing or two about using the assistants (or the text tool, even)! As always, there are a ton of great entries!
It gave me the gumption to really sit down and learn the text tool. I’m much better with it now and don’t have to switch to another program for text anymore! ![]()
I wanted to try something different from my usual paintings and a little more abstract. I was inspired by a lot of fantasy game concept art. Unfortunately ran out of time to work on this, so I didn’t get round to adding as much detail as I would’ve liked.
