cartoon funny cloud hope you enjoy
Hello @UHDS, and welcome to the forum!
Unfortunately, you did not post both works in one post, as it is requested somewhere in the rules. But that is no problem, you will have overlooked this as a new user.
@sooz, can you merge the both postings above mine? And perhaps delete mine (or let it stand as reminder?)?
Thank you!
Michelist
Autumn is my favourite time of the year, as it so happens it’s been quite windy here. I love the feeling of wind blowing through lots of layered clothing ![]()
Your art here is amazing!
This is actually my very first digital artwork like at all. I’m just starting my Krita journey and I’m hooked!!
This is me with my two cats on a windy day. Guess who is the crazy one ![]()
There are so many fun submissions this month! Thanks @Lynx3d for such a whimsical topic!
I bet there are a few last minute ones still getting final touches, and I’m looking forward to those too.
Congrats to everyone, It is going to be another month when it will be so difficult to choose only two to vote for!
Argh why do my painting never seem to have an end ![]()
Anyway, this time not a half finished image, just a bit rough on details here and there…
This has a story behind it. Two biographies of C.S. Lewis describe the incident; at one point, Lewis fervently declared that myths are beautiful stories, but nothing more than fabrications: “worthless lies, though sweetly seasoned.” This provoked a resounding protest from Tolkien: “No. They are not lies.” As if to confirm these words, despite the quiet and warm evening, a sudden breeze came from nowhere and blew down a veritable downpour of leaves. “We held our breath,” Lewis later recalled.
I’d like to dedicate this painting to these two, especially Lewis. When the time comes, I intend to try illustrating his books, either in hopes of enriching my portfolio or as a gesture of gratitude. I’m still terrible at drawing and painting figures, so I took the easy way out, seeking inspiration from the people in the background.
This painting was chaotic, with different brushes for different things. Ultimately, I copied three leaves that I was quite happy with, and then added the rest, which look (and actually are) individual brush strokes. As long as I can see them from a distance, I’m happy. I hope you like it, and to remade it one day, as it feels so unfinished.

Congratulations @Mariusz_Galaj, you are the winner of the September 2025 Monthly Art Challenge.
To everyone who submitted artwork and/or took the time to vote: Thank you and well done.
But wait, @Mariusz_Galaj… your work isn’t finished yet.
- Please choose the theme (as well as an optional challenge, if you wish) for the upcoming month.
- Please create a post in the Finished Artwork category to display your submission(s) so we can feature your work in the gallery. If your winning submission contained multiple images, note that whichever one you choose as the thumbnail image will be used in the featured images gallery.
- You have been granted a new winner’s badge for this competition. You can make this visible by editing your profile.
Before I set the theme for next month, I’d like to share a somewhat ironic observation: my entry was inspired by memories I found in Elizabeth Wiater’s biography of C.S. Lewis. Her Polish surname is a dialectal version of the polish word “wiatr,” which in English means “wind” or sometimes “breeze” (it is like with dialectal version of a word “Chimbley” used in some parts of England instead of “Chimney”). I thought it was worth mentioning because this month’s theme is “A Brezzy Day,” and perhaps some of you (like Lewis and Tolkien, whom my work addressed) don’t believe in coincidences and will find this interesting.
Regarding the October challenge:
Monthly Art Challenge – October 2025:
“The Burden of Power”:
-
Imagine having absolute power over every government, institution, and company in the world to get into character. You decide to teach humanity that with power comes responsibility. To send a clear message to every subject/voter, that those who are set above them to create and execute the laws, feel the daily burden of that power. Thus, you are issuing a special decree regarding the visible burden of power.
-
This october, your task will be to draw/paint an object that will pose a physical or mental burden to any position of authority you choose: parliamentarians, senators, judges, directors, bishops, or anything else you can think of as position of power.
-
Remember that all people in a given category will be required to wear this object (regardless of, for example, political affiliation; right or left). It is intended to clearly distinguish those in power from ordinary people. They must wear it at all times during their work. If you elect parliamentarians, it will apply equally to those you like and those you dislike. So don’t take it too far even if you know that some deserve very heavy burden. It is not meant to be a punishment for those who are in power now, but a warning for those who can be in the future.
-
The physical burden can be a special chain, so uncomfortable that it’s hard to forget, yet so light that no one can avoid it due to poor health or old age. It can be uncomfortable because of its weight or the need to move in a certain way (e.g., a metal helmet, a tiara, a heavy cloak, broad shoulderpads, large shoes).
-
A psychological burden is something you don’t particularly feel physically, but which no normal person would voluntarily wear on a daily basis (e.g., a hat with bells, a large plume, or a funny mask).
-
You may be familiar with the fairy tale of the Princess and the Pea. She was so delicate that, despite sleeping on many mattresses, she would wake up in a very bad mood because of a single pea under them. Imagine someone with an ego as sensitive as the princess’s body; a vain, stingy, greedy, and proud person would be incredibly offended by your decree and might even refrain from seeking power because of your demands. However, a humble, polite, warm-hearted person with a somewhat playful attitude would accept this burden without protest, and even with a sense of humor. That’s the point; it won’t deter every bad person, but at least it will deter the worst ones; the self-absorbed ones, who are deadly serious about their own importance.
-
All artistic styles are allowed. You’ll have to use your imagination a bit, but you can always draw or paint from reference and just spice things up.
-
Ideally, your inventions shouldn’t float in the air, but should be on a pillow/pedestal or hang on a coat rack (e.g., as if a newly elected senators were to enter their new office and first thing to see is the specjal uniform they’ll have to wear for their entire term).
-
Optional bonus challenge: I have no idea, so no optional challenge by deafult. But if @Elixiah, who took second place, has an idea, I’d be happy to give that privillage to her, but I’m not obligating her to anything.
Good luck with your creations!
PS: In the upcoming thread dedicated to the October challenge, I’ll share a piece I created a few months ago and will be remaking next month. I will explain in more detail why I chose this topic and give some advice that may help you realize your best possible idea.
@Mariusz_Galaj Congratulations! Beautiful and thought provoking entry. Well done and well deserved.
Maybe I can come up with an optional challenge after I’m done puzzling over the description for October’s challenge topic. ![]()

*sigh* - oh well, I’ll check the topic in November ; )
I just wanted to congratulate to everyone who participated on September topic. Miradka won me over with the idea, but there were many great works - good job, guys.
