Thanks for the feedback @Elixiah, I was hoping to hear others opinions. I’ll have another play around with it.
(It’s a bit hard to place myself there, it was 37degC yesterday.)

Wow, as soon as you live on the other side of the world, the weather is different. Instead of 37°, we had the heaviest snowfall here!

did a quick concept sketch of a found footage style pic of an erosion bird. tbh I was thinking of drawing an erosion bird anyway, but this topic was perfect for it lol.

@Iruhas is the mammoth done?
@B_Venom nice
@MangooSalade either one works well… though if I had a hard time detecting the characters in the first one, then I don’t think you needed to fade them more… unless you just want them truly more stealthy

mine is so slow going…

Some kind of icy landscape where I just made things up as I went along. The problem comes in defining these vague shapes into something more definite. (I used memileo’s 360light brushes for this, it’s fun smudging the colors together.)

Really liking the direction you’re going with this one. Interesting how you chose warm colors for your background when most of us used cool colors… yet still gives the impression of misty cold.

I’m going to sleep on this image tonight. If I still like it in the morning, then it would be my final…

ok i wasn’t too happy with the original face… so I decided to mess around some more with this file.

which one do you think is better?

You’re not gonna like this, but my vote would be some combination of the two, because I liked aspects of both… I liked the angle and exude of the 1st one and I like the clarity of the 2nd one.

Ok… this one is exceptional. Lighting, color, motion, expression, all in a vignette-like composition. No super-hero, warrior depiction… just an authentic capable indigenous looking woman. I like the face of the first one. The second one looks out of place to me. :slight_smile:

After 11 votes, the people have spoken. The first face wins. I’m still not too happy with it, so I’m letting it rest for a week or so and see how I feel about it after not looking at it for awhile. Besides, it’s time for me to get started on the CD Challenge. Thanks guys for the crits.

The first impulse is often the right one. The hardest part when you reach a certain level, is to know when to stop! :wink: Your painting is great as it is now.

muahahaha, i said i was done… but then I wasn’t, lol.

@SirEric said it best… I like the angle and pensive look of the first one, but the clarity/skin tone of the second one is best… so I redid everything.

I really really like this third one, so more than likely this is final. I’m going to rest on it for a few days or so again and for whatever reason I become hesitant, then I’ll put it up for another vote.

PS thanks @Elixiah for the vignette comment… cause now I added an actual vignette and it makes it look ten times better. Thanks everyone else for the comments.
