I don’t know how the new text tool decides when it likes to break my text into multiple lines. Not abysmal. Not even close… I’m guessing what you’re struggling with is that Krita will now create a certain type of text field depending on how you click. I’ll explain… - If you Left Click, without moving your mouse, Krita creates a “Preformatted” text field. This text field will require you to hit “Enter” in order to drop a line. - If you Left Click + Drag your mouse, Krita will create an “Inline Wrapped” text field. These fields let users change the width of the text field and autowraps the text within that space. - If you Left Click over a Vector Shape, Krita flows the text within the Vector Shape, meaning the text within these fields will wrap to fit within, what could be, odd shapes (useful for making Comic Speech Balloons). - If you Left Click over a Vector Shapes Outline, Krita will flow the text onto the line path, and the text will follow along its edge. Now… It’s important to understand the text is applied to Vector layers. So, if you want to edit the text, you’ll be using one of two tools, which are the **Text Tool** and the **Select Shape** tool. You’re most likely running into issues, because you’re select one tool, and expecting the result the other would give you. The text scaling, for example, would be because you’re using the Select Shape tool, which would select the text as a Vector Object. So, Krita thinks you want to change the size of the “Object”, like you would with any Vector Object you selected with that tool. To change the size of the text field (assuming the field is of the Inlined Wrapped variety, you’d need to select the text field with the Text Tool, then drag one of the handles on the left or right of the field. If the text is flowed into a Vector Shape, you’d need to switch from editing the text field, to editing the vector object the text resides in, by clicking the black button at the upper right of the text field/shape. I understand this _sounds_ complex, but it really isn’t. It’s just a matter of first understanding what you want to have happen, then following through on it.
