“lemon rokoko”

Usually I painting or draw slowly, but here I wanted to rest a little and “escape” into expression, so I painted the picture in a day and a half!

Is this you emulating Oil Painting with a program or are you actually doing it, I do acrylic myself (since the paint is cheap) but this looks like masterwork?

You can see it by the chosen category, this is real oil color because the category is [Traditional](https://krita-artists.org/c/artwork/traditional/24), and if you then search for the category description, that is always a posting after the scheme “About the XYZ category”, so here “[About the Traditional category](https://krita-artists.org/t/about-the-traditional-category/116)”, you can read what the category is meant for → no “digital artwork” in this case.

But of course you can imitate oil paintings with Krita, just use brushes made for that kind of painting.

Thank you for your comment, people’s opinions are really important to me. In this case, it’s oil paints on canvas, but in general, when I paint in digital programs, I also want the effect of oil paints!

Thank you, yes, I generally get different results. Apparently, the fact that the base is rigid played a role here - the canvas was glued to reinforced fiberboard. Plus, this kind of coloring is not typical for me. I used a work by Claude Monet as a basis to learn color from him.

благодарю,да у меня вобще получается по-разному,здесь видимо сыграло то,что основа жесткая-холст был наклеен на двп с усилением,плюс не типично для меня это такой колорит,я взял за основу произведение Клода Моне чтобы поучиться цвету у него

I also want to work a little with acrylic paints now - there are a lot of nuances: the transitions are not as smooth and it dries too quickly, but the issue of adhesion and fading is eliminated, plus you can then glaze the acrylic painting with oil paints, adding depth. I’m also testing a paste for acrylic, which I hope will help me make voluminous brushstrokes if necessary!

Wow, thanks for the backstory! Now that you mention it, I do recognize Monet’s color palette style, so to speak. Well done! That’s interesting too about the rigid base. I’ve no experience in that art form, but I can imagine the stiff board would have an impact.
Again, just beautiful work 💖

This is really beautiful! Such a lovely landscape. 🥰 Keep up your work with these paintings. I’m so impressed that it is traditional oils!

By the way, how do you manage to photograph your work to post? Do you need a special lighting or placement?

@WingedWarrior Regarding lighting, that’s a great question. I don’t have a professional camera, just a regular old Canon. I’ve adapted to lighting like this: I’ve chosen a spot indoors where I’ve placed two lamps (one warm and one cold) on the left and one on the right, and I’ve been photographing, adding more light from other sources and then reducing it until it’s more or less like the original. Although, of course, you probably need to take it outside in cloudy weather.

Thank you for your interest, and yes, the lamps are aimed at the ceiling to reduce glare.
