Hi
I’m probably not the best placed here to help you as I’m not the best here with digital painting and mostly use basic-1 and basic-5 size when drawing
But from your example, I prefer the bottom one, seems more “natural”

I agree with Grum, I like the bottom option better, it looks more natural.
Thanks for the feedback. I think in the same way. One of the things I like the most is just that, the grain
Same as the others. The bottom one is the closest to the reel “feel”.
Can’t want to see the bundle!
Looks good Ramon!
Will you also make this bundle like the Charcoal one, meaning you can control the width of a stroke using the tilt elevation? The feel of the charcoal pack is amazing, propably the best set of brushes I have used. If these pencils could mimic that, that would be great.
How do these brushes handle colours? Usually, colour pencils brushes fall short of my expectation, whereas a such brushes work fine as greyscale pencils. I would prefer the colours to be a bit light to the touch as you get with Derwent’s coloursofts. If memory serves, it’s like a B2. On the contrary, cheap regular children’s coloured pencils are usually quite hard and harsh, more like H2.
I’ve got some pencil textures I made for the Artistic Stylise thing in G’MIC you can use if you want. I made the extra set of them free to download today because lets face it the technique is a bit strange / niche.
I will check asap. Thanks a lot in advance
I like the grainy texture better. Looks more like a pencil. Reminds me of the modified Proko Pencil that I have in Infinite Painter (my favorite brush). The grainy one looks like it could become my favorite to draw with (and for working on copying the Bargue plates).
i will take a look, for these brushes i am starting from scratch.
I think i am near the end. After this the bundle will be published here and Youtube for free. I would like to see your sketches. It would be awesome to publish some of them in the next video.
Spoiler: they are coming
I can hardly wait!
If you hadn’t put the titles on them, I would have said the digital one is the real ones and the real one would be the digital
Awesome! The brushes look very good. I’ll blog about them on my little art blog when they come out.
But look for example in the MIN vs MAX Is covering everithing and is creamy.
I still consider this one light gray! Joke, I know you’re talking about the image itself and not the actual values. It’s pretty cool! Digital pencils are really nice from time to time.
Nice to know your working on these!!
I like a lot pencil drawing in traditional and these look amazing!
I agree, the bottom look better since hardly ever you can get solid drawing in graphite.
Also I was thinking it would be interesting if pressure changed a bit lightness besides the amount of graininess to be closer to graphite.
Thanks for all the effort Ramon!
Thanks for commenting
I am using my knowledge and what Krita has already available but my main idea about that , is the balance, between : these brushes need to be easy to manage and powerful in look.
