Side Glance in Grayscale

Got the reference image from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JenNaB0IoyQ which gives a nice demo of using Loomis.
I generally have a problem with values so I did this in grayscale to hopefully get a better feel for lights and darks. Can use it as a basis for color versions later.
Inspired to try it this way after looking at the amazing work of Den Jay that I found posted here.

Wow! Beautiful drawing and thank you for sharing the video tutorial I didn’t know… in italian too!! :grinning:

I like the values, and the hair texture. Very impressive.

Well done!

Thanks all. I appreciate the comments.
Thank heavens for the nudge tool. I spent a lot of hours adjusting her eyes and mouth. I really liked the feel of the look and wanted to get it right. Good thing that I’m retired and have the time to make it how I wanted :grinning:. Been at it off and on for a few weeks. Learned a lot doing it, like to use the air brush for blending rather than a smudger. Looking forward to doing more, but my next project will be something simpler, like a house, where it won’t look odd if everything isn’t in exactly the right position…
