Tl;dr
The feature request proposes an optional version of the Tool Options docker where the On-Canvas Brush Editor docker shows up in the Tool Options docker instead.
The Brush Editor settings would only show up when the Freehand Brush, Shape Tools, and Multibrush tool is active. This would give artists all relevant brush setting within one docker without affecting tool options for other tools.
You would also be able to add the docker to the popup palette which would make it more convenient for artists who use the “canvas-only” view. It would look something like this:
Note: the On-Canvas Brush Editor docker would disappear from the docker list (Settings → Dockers) when this merged mode is active, since it will appear within Tool Options docker. Also Tool Options location in settings require a restart so enabling the merged mode and handling the moving of the On-Canvas Brush Editor docker would not be hard to implement since a live update wouldn’t be required.
