SOLVED :) I cant recover my unsaved work

this has happened several times to me :frowning:
all is well while im working
but if I rest for several minutes, it closes, without saving
after 2 full bottles of aspirins to regain sanity, I try again
so when I open krita, I can see a completed thumbnail of my work, but it loads only 1 layer with all its frames
after wiping tears away, I came here to ask for advise ā€“ what did I do wrong?
Should I constantly save (seems logical)?

but the sudden closure is what is making empty my aspirin bottle

my laptop
CPU: 1.6GHz Intel Core i5-8250U (quad-core, 6MB cache, up to 3.4GHz Turbo Boost)
Graphics: Intel UHD Graphics 620.
RAM: 8GB DDR4 (2,400MHz)
Screen: 13.9-inch FHD (1,920 x 1,080) IPS touchscreen.
Storage: 512GB SSD (PCIe NVMe)

any advice (Iā€™m a newbie in love with krita) ??
will she love me back?

UPDATE ā€“ the autosave was indeed on, I discovered, and it did saved my work.
However, I learned that upon reopening krita, different works that were all autosaved were ticked (selected) ā€“ So once I unselected the other works, and left selected the work I need to continue to work on, then I was able to recover the work ā€¦ nice!

Each day I fall more and more in love with Krita ā€“ it has so many fancy features!!
I just loved it and do not see myself moving towards any other software at all, period.
