Ah, you mean Blender specifically? Yeah, I guess it’s fair in this case.
This machine would reach its 5 years life expectancy this February. And unexpectedly, this mobo doesn’t actually support RX 6600 (browser tabs playing tricks on me during spec comparison
). If it still doing okay post upgrade, I’ll continue working on it.
I’ll also consider preparing an AM5 build and wait until the price shrinking enough.
Umh…why shouldn’t it?
Sure, it has only PCIe 3.0, and the 6600 is limited to x8 and suffers a bit when not having a PCIe 4.0 slot, but it costs only a few percent performance, most of the time it’s barely measurable, and when it its more than 10% it’s usually VRAM hungry games that run at unplayable frame rates either way.
I’m not aware of anything else that could affect compatibility, like with Intel’s Arc you need to have resizeable BAR support otherwise performance tanks…
Is there a way to mark this post as solved? All of your suggestions and advices helps me a ton. Packages is on its way. Wet days gonna slow the expedition time as well.
Not in this forum category, I think. The “solved” mark is for the support section.
Alright, then. I’ll do my best to contribute and be as helpful as all of you. I’ve been watching wonderful artworks ever since joining this forum.
I have changed your headline to reflect the fact that this topic has been solved. I hope that’s okay with you?
