What is the best workflow for the infinite scroll formats (tapas, webtoons, 0xmanga, etc.)?

Asking because it’s a known fact that Krita has issues (lag) with large canvases, so it isn’t best to just draw as a single image, then split it up, but what’s the other alternative? Draw it as animation/storyboard with every panel being different frame? Or what? I know there are infinite scroll comics made in Krita, maybe the authors are hanging out here and can give some tips.

Any tips?

I remember a comic book artist planning sketches by making the pages 50% smaller: he said it helped him visualize the page as a whole.

He did it in the traditional way, it can also be done in Krita…
