i was watching inmau on twitch https://player.twitch.tv/?video=v1476876700&parent=krita-artists.org&autoplay=false at 3hours 06min to like 3:11 mins he shows a technique he uses where he uses a blursculpt brush a lot. in Krita i cant seem to find a brush quit like it. it also seems to grow the area at the same time. ---

Krita has no brush like that by default but I remember the digital atelier pack has a few that work like that. They have color rate configured in a way that thy work like pure blenders with very low pressure and paint otherwise. ---

Not really sure which one in the vid as he switches brush abit and im having trouble following. I have one similar brush - i modified from a basic wet but its more smudgy than blury - played with a couple of setting with ) blender blur as i think it was the brush i modified. the main difference is that he blurs and erases at the same time with one brush. in Krita you have to pull empty space into the paint to remove some. where as he starts on the paint and pulls away to erase and blur at the same time. the closes i’ve gotten so far is with the watercolor passive from Mojo set. i modified and made a half moon tip [https://rumble.com/v13vks4-watercolor-passive-from-mojo-set.html](https://rumble.com/v13vks4-watercolor-passive-from-mojo-set.html) maybe we could achieve this if we could transition from one brush to another during the same stroke we could achieve something similar. ---

I’m sure you could do this like him with 3 different brush presets. Otherwise id think something along the lines of sinix dry brush can maybe do all of it? I watched the video and didn’t think it was clear which brush he used. To me it looks like he just changed the **layer mode.** Can’t be sure why he put that animation _on top,_ disturbing the view… ---

But if it’s a tutorial, it gets in the way: certain effects you get by changing the layer mode… and Krita has several. There are even two, _Grain extract_ and _Grain Merge_ that I used a lot in Gimp. ---
