I’ve started a 16-week Character Design Advanced Course (including a 2-week break for Chinese New Year). I’ll be posting my progress here—hope I can keep it up until the end.

Week3
This week’s assignment is to apply 2-point lighting to line art characters to create a sense of three-dimensionality.
Before moving on to the original rendering, there is also an analysis task focused on studying other artists’ rendering styles, though I won’t be posting that here.
The requirements for this assignment mentioned that complex designs weren’t necessary, but looking back, I regret not being a bit more ambitious with the designs (especially for the first one). That said, I’m swamped with my day job this week, so I don’t have much time for extra practice anyway.
By the way, I originally started with color instead of monochrome, but I decided to play it safe for now based on my instructor’s feedback.
