4.4.2 Zoom bug while using two monitors

Recently, I downloaded the 4.4.2 update and suddenly I started having a strange problem. I use Krita on a Huion drawing tablet while I have another monitor as well. Sometimes, I multitask and type on my monitor while I have a drawing on Krita open. This causes a zoom bug that does not allow me to zoom in on my canvas by scrolling my mouse wheel. Has anyone experienced a similar issue? If so, how should I fix this problem?

I have experienced the same issues several times.

Hello and welcome to the forum

With 4.4.2 on Linux and Windows, I don’t have this problem at all.
I can type in a text editor window on one monitor while zooming with the mouse wheel in krita on another monitor, without clicking in the krita window to give it focus.

So is this a Huion display-tablet?

Have you tried clicking on the krita window title bar (or workspace) to give it focus?

Can you still pan the canvas by using the Space key?
Can you still zoom the canvas by Ctrl+Space?
Can you still paint on the canvas?
Can you still scroll in the Brush Presets docker with the scroll wheel?

Can you uninstall the 4.4.2 version and then install the previous version you had and see if that stops the problem?

I think that the Huion setup/config utility has the ability to create ‘profiles’ for different applications.
If so, can you setup a separate profile for krita.
If you’ve already done that then delete the existing krita profile and create a new one while krita is running, then adjust the settings to your usual preferences.

Hello, thank you for the reply! To answer your questions, yes I have a Huion display-tablet and I have tried clicking on the Krita window title bar to give it focus. I can’t pan the canvas with the Space key and I cannot zoom in with Ctrl+Space. I can, however, still paint on the canvas and scroll in the Brush Presets docker. I tried reverting to 4.4.1 and that did not fix the issue. Maybe I could try an earlier version though.

If 4.4.1 was the previous version you were using, that was the one to try reverting to. That just demonstrates that it wasn’t a problem with the 4.4.2 installation that caused the situation. Now, you can install 4.4.2.

Did you try making (or deleting and remaking) the application profile in the Huion setup/config utility while krita is running?
(Another user fixed a problem with a Huion tablet by doing that.)

I know you’re using a mouse and not the Huion stylus but it is a Huion tablet and not an ordinary monitor, so it has its own driver that may have been messed up somehow (possibly by a Windows update).
You could try disconnecting it, uninstall the Huion driver, restart your PC, install the latest driver from Huion, restart your PC, connect the Huion and try again with setting up a krita specific profile as part of your usual tablet setup activity.

What happens if you press 2 to fit the canvas to the page? Do you regain panning and zooming functionality?
