Hello there,
here are a couple of panels I did for my webtoon today. I’m happy with them, especially in that deadline rush context I’m in… they are half rushed, half loved and I feel it works… (What do you think ?)
The next panel should be a zoom out I designed to stand out… wish me luck !
Stupid question, but where can we find the webtoon you keep talking about?
I only found some link on your youtube profile, but that only redirects me to some chinese website that apparently wants to sell me their VPN service…
Sure, here it is, but please keep in mind I was crushed to a pulp by deadlines and I would like to forget about most of the previous drawings as I rushed like crazy! I was asked for 40 panels a week, including writing, storyboarding publishing… everything. Oh yes, this was to be made aside from my day job. Little (literally nothing) did I know about my new parenthood implications
About the topic, it was supposed to be a medieval romance (take it or leave it at the time so I took it) but I had an urge to put a joke in every panel and, well, I guess people didn’t feel romance but had some fun!
PS: So yes, for a come back after a long hiatus, I wanted to finish things on a high note. But the company is running out of patience so I need to finish before 2025.
I see, so all the stuff you’ve shared lately is not published yet?
Since that Ep. 36 is from Dec. 2021…
I was curious how a finished page looks like…though the old ones are basically just a strip of individual panels on a blank page. But it clearly looks rushed compared to the stuff you shared here in the last 2 years or so.
I’m not sure my french is good enough to get more than a rough idea what the story is about, by now I might even have better chances to understand a Japanese Manga
Yes, they want to have all the remainder before they resume publication. And yes… Dec. 2021… wow it’s been a while!
This is a webtoon, it’s meant to be a scroll. But don’t be mistaken, behind the apparent simplicity, spacing and making everything a portrait is also a challenge.
Yes it’s not what I’m most proud of. Two main reasons:
time: producing 40 panels a week, alone with all the other tasks that make a published comic was just impossible to me (side job whild getting into parenthood, competitive main job…).
lack of experience in mass production: it can be really disheartening when you feel the chain aspect of the work. Usually I would make a single drawing, meditate over it etc…now I need to do X drawings a day and not look back…
