What are “Plicked” Sausages?

I thought it was a spelling mistake and should stand for “Pickled” …

Yes, I made a mistake when I did it. You can play that the sausages were made by the owner of the motel, and she is of French origin.

Pickled sausages are a very popular snack in Germany, Czech Republic and eastern Europe. It looks strange, but it’s delicious. And for some types of hot dogs, sausages are prepared in the same way.

Although I’ve visited pretty much every region in Germany, and have lived in two other regions in addition to my home region, I, as a sausage crazy person, :plate_with_cutlery: have to say: “Sorry, but I don’t know them, and I live in the middle of Germany’s ‘sausage belt’, if you want to call it that.”
And before I forget, my stepmother was Czech, and I myself was with a Czech woman for a good 4 years. And also from them I never heard about it.

The German version of this is called “Saft-Bockwurst”. My aunt lives in Niedersachsen and she often sees this on sale. She also makes them herself. So, there is a reason to find and try something new)

The original recipe, of course, is Czech, from where it spread to other countries.

But this is not pickled, it is only sold in jars, and the liquid is a lightly salted brine adapted to the salt content of the sausages, so that the salt does not migrate from the sausages into the water but remains in the sausages.

Maybe I think something is wrong. Yes, they can simply be preserved in brine. They are also found in vinegar marinade, where spices and some vegetables are added for taste. I’m from Kaliningrad myself, although the Czech version is popular here, especially homemade.

I did not expect that the typo would cause such an interesting gastronomic discourse.
