A New World of Shortcuts?

In another Topic, @Nlx describes use of ‘space+c’ and ‘space+v’ as shortcuts:

I didn’t know this was possible.
In fact it’s not Space used as a modifier, it’s a sequence of key presses and is actually ‘Space, c’ which is Space followed by ‘c’.

This works because Space is not used as any other shortcut.

This can be extended to using e.g. ‘Space, H, 1’ as a sequence shortcut, even though ‘H’ alone is an existing shortcut:

You can also use ‘Space, Space, H’ as a shortcut, provided that
‘Space, Space’ isn’t already used as a shortcut.

I’ve haven’t seen this documented so is it ‘official and supported’ to do this?

Edit:Add: You can use ‘Ctrl+Space, H, 1’ but you can’t use ‘Ctrl+Space, Space’.

Hi

According to Qt documentation about shortcuts, it seems to be what they call “GNU Emacs style key sequence”
https://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qkeysequence.html#gnu-emacs-style-key-sequences

So it might be official and supported as it’s implemented by Qt, I think.

I didn’t know Krita can do this. Key sequences are common among IDEs and some editors like VIM, useful when you have more functions as there are possible shortcuts available. Cool thing.

I suggest that we wait for two or three months and then have a contest to see who has the biggest, best organised and most attractively coloured shortcut cheat sheet.

I’ve been using this knowledge ever since I configured (z,z) or double tapped z for eraser mode.

It’s great!
