I’ve been using Krita extensively for a while now… mainly for (raster) animation and it’s been great.
But lately I’ve been searching for a way/feature to fill/color multiple frames of my animation as this takes up a lot of time and something like that could save so much time/energy of my animation process but I couldn’t find anything.
Am comparatively new to the forum and this might as well be a dumb question… but is there anything of that sort in krita !??
Thats a good question actually! I use krita for animation here and there too and such a thing could be really great
I think the colourize mask is what should be used or upgraded to be used in animations. But I haven’t used animation really to say.
No, I don’t believe there’s a way to do it yet. I too would want that feature
But if the frames are already filled and you need to change the colour of multiple frames, you can do that! 1) select the frames you want to change color and 2) you select “Multiframe” option on the filter panel (Color Adjustment or HSV Adjustment).
There are some features that i think are still under development, i remember tiar said colorize mask for animation is under development - but progress seems to be stagnant. Might be worth checking with the devs about it.
Yeah I came across that… n its really handy
But I was looking for things like “multiframe fill” that would’ve the animation process more fluent.
There aren’t even any plugins or addons for it
If it is under development that’d be great!
Also I checked there on your suggestion of some sort of gap closure solution… that’d be great for animation as well !
Any idea how to get in touch with the devs ?
The fill thing is also under development.
They are on the forum, but I would only suggest contacting them if you REALLY need them. They tend to be very busy. Krita is not a small project.
If they feel they have something to say they will say here.
You can technically use the colorized mask, save the result into a new layer’s keyframe, then do minor editing for every frame.
You can also divide up your animation into more pieces where each object would have its own layer, then move the object via animated transform masks. This would reduce manual redrawing and coloring between frames.
