Accept Nano crypto donations in krita.org

 Hello @avndp and welcome to the forum!

So I see here with me, at least 3 methods without additional fees for me to send a donation to Krita, but there could be regional differences.
If there would be the possibility to use the PayPal function “send money to a friend”, then this would be yet another fee-free possibility, and the fees for the standard transfer via PayPal are not charged to you, but to Krita after all.
The argument to do something just because others do it is not an argument, see the lemmings.
If the fees bother you, you could deduct them from the donation, Krita would rather accept that than any cryptocurrency.

I also find @Grum999’s argument regarding all the wallets you’d have to get in order to comply with donors’ requests regarding accepting “their” currency valid. How many and which currencies to accept and why, and then the eternal begging “accept my currency too”.
No, in my eyes Krita offers enough possibilities, and if you really want to donate, you use one of them! And if you deduct the possible fees from your donation, so what, still better than swallowing a toad you don’t like to eat.

Even though I only superficially follow the conversations about cryptocurrencies here, and they don’t interest me much outside of the Krita sphere, they are probably rejected here not only because of their energy balance, but also because it is a highly speculative asset that makes rich people richer on the one hand and is used by the underworld to disguise money flows or launder funds on the other. Okay, the latter does not apply to donations, it is quasi disposable money, the donor does not get it back laundered, but it can come from undesirable sources.

Although, I myself would get into doubts about a donation of 100 or more whole bitcoins, probably I would take and exchange it directly into a currency I can grab and store under my cushion.
