Made a little photoshopped tribute to the little fella I almost ran over on my bike Sunday night. Not sure why he died, although I’ve learned they are very fragile creatures! Specialized diet, quiet, warmth, limited handling, and dim lighting are all highly recommended. So, the apple slices, photos, and petting him on my lap could all have contributed to his over-stimulation and eventual death.
I take solace in believing that he lived 2 days longer than if I’d left him on the road fresh out of the nest. He’d definitely have made a meal for something.
