All brushes used on designated layer uses set blend mode

I’d like to force brush blend mode when painting on a specific layer.
So watercolor I like make a Grey scale layer where I make sure to always use on flat light blend mode on brushes. Except I don’t want to have to always change the blend mode everytime I use a different brushes.

I understand what you want, sort off understand why, but it could be clearer.
Can you elaborate with examples, screenshots, maybe video if you can? It is so we can have proper discussion and maybe find other users with similar workflow needs.

The need for this was from playing with Pesi’s watercolor brushes. He set them all to parallel mode.
I like it but try I also tried other modes, found that I liked using flat light and some others too. But it’s painstaking to individually switch them. Then I wanted to try some of my other watercolor brushes but they were all set to normal blend mode.
I’m trying a grayscale approach to watercoloring detailed here:

If I could make the grayscaled layer force brushes to be a desire blend mode it would help.

But I strongly sense they people might find other good uses for this as having ability to change multiple brushes blend mode on the fly without and still use them in normal blend on other layers would be powerful

Another use might be for people interested in color blending since some blend modes allow for it. And being able to try modes across brushes without it being tedious can lead to new discoveries

I’m not sure if this is exactly what you asked for but as a workaround you can lock the blending mode by right clicking the setting and choosing lock. that way you save the brush blending mode even if you swap brushes around.

Oh that is pretty useful tip, ty. It’s essentially that that I want just it would only happen on a select Layer.
