Alpha Decay is a type of nuclear reaction in which an unstable nucleus becomes stable by releasing an alpha particle as well as a smaller nucleus. The original nucleus is called the parent nucleus, and the product of that after the reaction is called the daughter nucleus. I thought of a mother and her daughter. For some reason my mind wandered to picture this, and here we are. When my science teacher said to model nuclear reactions, I doubt this is what he had in mind. I like how this turned out a lot.
