hi, I’ve never used animation ‘software’ or a drawing tablet in my life, and am finally upgrading from flipaclip and the cheapest stylus Walmart has. I am quite young and still rely on my parents for money (I can’t get a job where I live) and I do not want to spend what little I have on a drawing tablet. is there any way I can use my (i)phone or my brothers iPad for a drawing tablet? is there a way to connect it to a computer or my MacBook Pro?
Maybe the is third party software that can ro that but from what I know it’s difficult. You can however simply install Krita directly on the Mac. If that Mac has touch and a pen with pressure you can use it with Krita, if the pen doesn’t have pressure sensors you basically just have a glorified mouse.
And it looks like someone asked this in an apple forum

Understand what you’re saying, but I was just looking at this xp-pen one (I have a Wacom) and wondering how well it works…it’s (relatively) cheap … $60 - https://www.amazon.com/10x6-25-Graphics-Battery-Free-Shortcut-Pressure/dp/B077P6BQP7
I wonder what that actually is ![]()
As for the XP-Pen Deco 01 V2, I bought one on the summer sale they had a few weeks ago (where it was even cheaper than the Deco Fun L), and have to say these cheap things perform pretty well on the basics.
It easily outperforms my old (okay VERY old, like 15y?) Wacom Graphire 4 when it comes to pressure feedback, straight lines and fast circles (higher report rate, so less kinks without brush smoothing).
I’m a bit disappointed with the tilt direction sensor, it has noticeable jumps/gaps at all multiples of 90°, although I’m not 100% sure yet if that isn’t a linux driver issue. But I’ve read similar complaints about other XP-Pen and Huion tablets too, so I guess the UC Logic sensors they use just don’t do it very well yet.
The only other complaint I have is the grip material, it has this slightly greasy silicone feel and you need to hold it rather firmly to not slowly slip off with every brush stroke…I ended up wrapping it in cloth. Mind you, the Graphire 4 stylus grip sucked too, just in another way…
Well, despite just upgrading my Wacom Intuos pro to the PTH 660 (from a version 4) I couldn’t resist getting a used XP-Pen from amazon which cost less than the wacom slim pen. I want to try it out and compare how well it works next to the wacom. Will report back…
Just received my used XP-Pen Deco 01 v2 and Dayum! I’m very impressed…works great and seemingly as well as my Wacom. Haven’t done much with it but for less than the cost of the Wacom Slim Pen … WOW! Highly recommended! The physical build is clearly not a sturdy, but works great! Highly recommended at this point!
