Currently, Krita’s default display mode for the selection overlay is Ants and whenever you change it from Ants to Mask in the status bar, and load in a new session or new project file, it reverts back to the default ants display mode.
I usually take off my glasses when I draw because sometimes it gets in the way, so the ants mode is barely visible to me, so I do use the mask mode option that’s located at the status bar, but I want it to persist to new sessions or if I’m opening another project file.
Here’s an example on where it’d be located if it was implemented.
