Maybe you should add a bit more definition to the pecs, abs and belly button. Compared to the arm and neck, they seem a bit blurred. Love how you did the skin tone!
Thank you for the critique. You know i was actually doing my best to dial down the abs. The model is stretching the pecs by closing the shoulder blades. I think we lose a lot of the color subtleties when exporting.
Added more shading to emphasize rounding of the pecs towards the back and side of the torso.
I apply the HL with Airbrush w/ color dodge filter. Then airbrush with midtone with RED with Color HSL, touch Yellow where sun hits, and touch blue where the shadws.
Here’s the belly button! Now we know he’s human ![]()
It’s hard to tell if he was stretching or not, as we don’t see the reference. I was just comparing it to the first sketch, which feels like he could be just standing there. Maybe there is still some lack of definition, maybe I’m wrong, it’s hard to tell without the reference.
Honestly, i am not certain what the reference is doing. Or if he is not a centaure.
Only clues i see are.
- hidden right arm
- stretched pecs
If i could just see how he placed his hands.
Drawing serratus muscle was easy, painting it is a different thing.

Judging by how his back is angled, that’s how I think his posture would look. He probably has his hips in a posterior tilt. ![]()

(It looks like there’s a large section of subcutaneous fat/muscle missing from the bottom of his left pectoral.)
The image was from proko.com.
Watermark is top right. It came as part of a free downloadable pack as part of the figure drawing. It’s still there.
Hahaha!
Maybe, I have no idea. He could also be resting against something with his legs crossed. I don’t know why, I thought your sketch resembled the David statue. Maybe the sassy version ![]()
Ha!, that is exactly what I was going for.
Again. Thank you for the critique.
More Triceps.
Modified the large charcoal brush ratio to 0.4. Rotation = 90.
I held stylus underhand. still doable but not perfect. I like my conte pierre noire pencils.
Used Pesi Water color Brushes. Trying to emulate line and wash look.
Building reference from imagination.
I love the soft lighting on the building.
Unplanned. My brush was in erase mode then I thought it looked like bounce light from another building. Happy accidents right.
Yay for happy accidents!
Nice rendering ![]()
Another Line and wash attempt but i think i washed out all my lines.
Used Krita 4 Watercolor brushes.
