Android - Gesture for zoom and rotate canvas

Why there isnt a gesture shortcut for a "zoom and Rotate Canvas " ? We can only use gesture for zoom OR rotate , its pretty annoying ;/

The mapping of gestures would be determined by the operating system or the tablet driver and its setup/config utility.

It may be that krita for Android has facilities in this area that I’m not aware of
so I’ll ping @sh-zam who does Android development.

As a supplementray question:

In the Canvas Input settings, there is ā€˜Zoom and Rotate Canvas’.
I’ve tried setting up an activation for this as shown:-

As far as I can tell, the Ctrl+Shift+Middle Mouse action is not used anywhere else.

I was hoping that horizontal movement would rotate and vertical movement would zoom, or something like that.
So how is it supposed to work?

(I’ve made a small change to the category of this topic.)

Thanks for the ping!

I’m not sure I understand the problem?

I think that @GregP has experience of using applications where you can use a two finger touch gesture to zoom (by ā€˜pinch’) and rotate at the same time.

The canvas input settings seem to hint at this combined functionality with the Zoom and Rotate Canvas action. I’ve not been able to get that to work though or to do anything at all.

Exactly , how Ahab said

I ave Krita 5.0.2 on Samsung Galaxy Tab s7+ and the pinch and zoom works just fine at the same time with two fingers.

Was working on something and wanted to implement gestures. There is already code for it in Krita? I don’t have touchy tablets but wanted to code for it.

You mean you have ā€œgestureā€ shortcut on "zoom and rotate canvas " tab in input setings ? Or Just gesture shortcut in Pan and rootate canvas tabs ? When I set up gesture on the these two separate settings its worked only for on option ( pan or rotate ) I use Krita 5.0.2 on s7 + as well

I haven’t changed any shortcut settings, ā€œzoom and rotate canvasā€ is active, no idea where ā€œpan and rotate canvasā€ is so I can’t tell much about that.

You need to enable touch rotation in Settings → General → Tools → Enable Touch Rotation to have both Zooming AND rotating functionality. If this is what you’re talking about.

Sorry Guys for the problem , that options just didnt work on my Krita 5.0.2 with Tab s7 +, but Just reinstall app and it work … Keep finger crossed for more gesture actions in app. Overal I must say that Krita on android work awesome , very fast not to much glitches if you will add few more gesture actions/customziation it will be best painting app on the market !

Yes i also use tab s7+. The choice for art apps in android sucks a lot and always envy that ipad have a lot of great art apps. But ever since krita 5 comes, i really like it, hope that they will keep improving for tablet.
