I usually use a softer, more freehand and blended style, but recently wanted to explore some new techniques including a more angular, sharp-edged style.
I’ve been utilizing the straight-line tool for my linework, but was wondering if there was any way to create a line that is at a certain angle. Specifically, if I wanted to draw a 90-degree line so it would be parallel to the edges of my canvas is there a feature that could help with this? If so, where can I find it/how can I access it?
Can’t you just draw a line on the canvas edge and then move it? Since it snaps to image border. Otherwise, you can make a grid and snap to that. Or am I misunderstanding something?
Hi! Try holding “V” when using the brush tool. Holding “V” and then holding “Shift” will snap the lines to angles (like 90 degree and similar)! It works with pressure and any brush!
Thanks for your help, KnowZero! I could draw lines on the canvas edge and move them, but I would prefer to be able to draw them where I wanted to put them.
However, would you be willing to explain how you can make and snap lines to a grid?
Sure, open up the grid and guides docker, and set up how you want your grid size and offsets. Then View->snap to->grid or ctrl+shift+; , you can also create guides and snap to those too
