The goal of this is to learn to create film scenes using 2d/3d in an anime/painterly style.
Will update this when I continue to work on it, feel free to share learnings you have around this area as well.
This is what I exported from blender to use in Krita as a base
Also exported just the metalic surfaces to use in krita to isolate the metal.

WIP1
WIP2 -sky still temporary might add trees in a ghibli style later
From here I plan to work a bit more on texturing, then clouds, foilage and back in blender I will use Grease Pencil for all the cables and powerlines. Grease pencil is great because it uses 3d perspective. Also, I have this scene both in Krita and in blender so updating things should be easy.
I might also try create a few different lighting scenarios if I am not bored of this project by then

I added the krita texture to blender using project from view unwrapping on all of my objects
Next step is grease pencil,
I also added fine details in blender using procedural textures
Here is a close up:
Added 2d grease pencil objects for cables, still a ways to go.
You can see it coming together tho, here is a quick camera movement. The cool thing is that everything plays down in real time in the viewport.
Moving in cam
Stationary cam
Added more detail with foilage, next step is to add clouds.

It is finally coming together, not sure about the clouds, might make them more detailed?
Image so far
I think ill fix up the clouds and then set things up for rendering in layers for compositing.

Well, I finished something, take a look in 4k

what do you think? any glaring problems i can learn from
I think it kinda works, I had a lot of trouble with different bugs and stuff in grease pencil, still seems a bit new. Other than that it was a relatively smooth process.
I could definitely add more detail like trees and also paint the clouds in Krita instead of simulating them.
