Apply G'MIC filter on Krita current canvas

Hello!

I use Krita on Debian Linux.
I have a file.kra open and I need an example of a command line on Terminal which will edit my drawing on open Krita canvas.
I need to apply a G’MIC filter on my current Krita canvas using Terminal command line.

Thanks!

 Hello @Wano, and welcome to the forum!

I don’t know much about Linux, and I don’t use G’MIC much, but it might help you to know that after you have set a filter in G’MIC to your liking, you can copy these settings as a command to the clipboard to reuse it exactly with these settings. To do this you just have to click on the copy button, you can find it in the upper right corner of the G’MIC window, it’s those two white squares next to the green reset/refresh icon.

I hope that this at least gives you a starting point for your project.

Thank you Michelist!

I want to try your suggestion.
I use Krita 4.4.2 on Debian Linux.
The problem is that I don’t see the necessary buttons to copy the command on G’MIC window.
I have attached a screenshot.

Thanks!

You should update your G’MIC, they are above 3.x, and your Krita is also quite old, we are at the moment at 5.0.6 for the release-version. If you consider updating Krita, then please use the AppImage, many other installation variants lead to support request on Krita-Artists.

Thank you Michelist! You are right.

I have downloaded the AppImage, it works fine the last Krita version.
Now I can see the button for copying the G’MIC command, but I didn’t succeed to use it on Terminal over the current canvas.
It can be used as standalone filter over an image, but not over a file.kra, open as current Krita canvas.
I hope in the future will become available the command line option for G’MIC.

Thanks!
